THE FAKE FOOTBALLers of the Roundtable tackle some imoprtant fantasy football questions

FAKE FOOTBALL, REAL QUESTIONS (November 2nd Edition)

by Staffy McStafferson of The Fake Football. (I think I used to work with him)

November 2, 2013

MY RATING: 4 / 5

KEEP it.

Yes, it’s a typical fantasy football article format — a few fantasy experts answering questions from readers — but this is one of the good ones, fellow fake footballers.

Kevin Roberts, Greg Smith, Jason Willan and Phil TWR answer 4 questions on the topics of Adrian Peterson, the Colts WR crew, potential underperformers in the 2nd half, and Mario Manningham and give what I feel to be sound advice.  We already got to see some of that sage advice play out this past Sunday.  The rest of their predictions….we shall see…

Anthony Olivetti at Football.com is either on Shrooms or he just got done watching NFL Week 1

Week 1 Review: I Can’t Believe What I’m Seeing by Anthony Olivetti (Football.com) on September 10, 2013

“Wow. Week 1 was, as it always is, a reality check for many of us. Stud running backs got off to slow starts, hype trains got stopped dead in their tracks, and tight ends showed us that the position isn’t dead yet.”

That statement about sums up Week 1 in the Fantasy pretty well. I love the way Olivetti lays out this article, giving us 4 of the biggest surprises and stories of Week 1 in detail, followed by a list of about 8 players that he will be keeping his eye on and why in week 2, and it’s not your typical list. Solid.

RATING: 3.5 / 5

Why KEEP it? – it’s early and these type of articles are important, if anything to keep you from doing anything stupid. I also like the list he has at the end a lot.

Why CUT it? – There’s a lot of these types of articles, I get it.

What I’m listening to: David Bowie – The Next Day. Bowie’s latest is so good. Revisiting it.

John Halpin checks out all the RBBC’s

Fantasy RBBC Advice Week 1 by John Halpin (Fox Sports) on September 3, 2013

In the first of what is going to be a weekly edition, John Halpin attempts to gauge NFL backfields with a focus on the volatile, 50/50, or injury-plagued situations. Needless to say, this kind of information is crucial in this age of Fantasy Football. He does a solid job of hitting everything he needs to with a short paragraph for each backfield. Just the kind of coverage you should take the 5-10 minutes every Tuesday (when John will be posting them) to look at.

RATING: 4/5

Why you should KEEP it: provides vital coverage on a week-to-week changing NFL backfield landscape

Why you should CUT it: If you only own immovable RB starters like Adrian Peterson and, and, and….oh, yeah.
